cONFERENCE in gENERAL

So I decided that since "blogs" were mentioned by name a couple times in general conference it was about time that I share a bit of my thoughts on one of the most important subjects in my life. I love my daughter and husband very much and for that reason I feel very blessed to have the gift of the gospel in my life. It has brought me more comfort, guidance and peace than any other one thing in my life. So it would be very ungrateful and in a way greedy not to share my thoughts, beliefs, and feelings about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My testimony itself is very simple and often helps to simplify the chaos of my life. There are things Jake and I have accomplished that were only possible because of the help we recieved through the gospel. I know I am given help on a daily basis and so I know my Heavenly Father knows and loves me individually. I also have felt the healing powers of repentance through Jesus Christ and so I know he lives and suffered for each one of us individually so that we can be forgiven of our sins and return to live with our Heavenly Father. I have felt the confirmation of the spirit and now know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet and mouth peice of God as well as Joseph Smith was when he restored the church on the earth. I'm thankful for the temple and the ordinances that are performed there to make it possible for families to be together forever. I know that as a people, LDS people are imperfect and we make mistakes and judge others but if you look at the teachings in conference or in the Book of Mormon you will know that it is only because we are not perfect and that we are taught to be like Jesus Christ and love others without judgement. With all my heart I testify to the truthfulness of these things and say them in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

oops put this post after the next one : )

Lastly how good he is gift giving. Here is one of my amazing, thoughtful, and creative anniversary presents. We have a thing with the full moon and whenever I look at it I think of him and some fun memories. So he made me my very own full moon lantern that hangs over my bed day and night. Hence our blog title with the full moon and fall is our season together. I love you Jake and hope this litttle insight post can give you alll a taste of my wonderful life with Jacob Whitney Macfarlane.

The Best Husband/Dad Ever

So it’s a little late because my first 3 attempts were erased. But Jake’s 25th birthday was the 22nd and I’m finally able to redo this. I think it’s about time I let him and any curious reader know how much I appreciate and absolutely adore my sweet Jacob. I’ll try not to get too mushy but no promises since some of you might already think I have. Starting at the beginning seems appropriate so I’ll tell you the first (non physical thing that drew me to Jake. The first idea I had of Jake was that he had a reputation for being a really genuinely nice guy. I also thought he was kind of quiet just because I didn’t know him so when I saw his impromptu dance in the high school fashion show I saw that he had a crazy fun side. Then the thing that sealed the deal (or started me pursuing him) was when he asked me to dance at senior cotillion and I felt more comfortable talking to him than any other boy before. Since then I have been shown more and more amazing attributes that only a girl would dream of in a husband and best friend. So now to keep this from being a kind of long picture less post I hate reading I’m going to show some of his highlights through pictures.

So one of the things I love most about Jake is that no matter how old we get and how mature we are supposed to be, we will always have fun and be like childhood best friends having fun!

Another thing that I love and that I think is a very important attribute for a Dad and Husband is their ability to make you feel beautiful (no matter how contrarily pregnant you feel), loved and special to him.

His worthiness in the church is very important. Also his aspirations to always improve and get better together, the goal being to ultimately return to our Heavenly Father as an eternal family.

What an awesome, fun, loving, caring, and patient Dad he is!

One of the things that sealed the deal when deciding who to marry is how great he is with my family and how much he cherishes his own family ties.

Moment of silence please... my first of I'm sure many, plastic spoons, is ruined- melted in Grandma's dishwasher (we don't have one). I guess I'll just have to go get some new ones. Thankyou for your respectful silence.

West Nile Here I Come

So I know this picture is gross and not very flattering of my oh so lovely white legs but this has got to be a record. One hour outside in Utah (not even a foreign country where this is prob more common) 7-8 oclock pm, running around playing soccer (soccer socks up to my knees) and I woke up this morning with 35 mosquito bites just from my knees down! So that is why, even though I hhate this picture I had to prove its not a lie. Also if I die suddenly you might be able to guess how.

She thinks she sees a bug. I know I prob should put clothes on her but isn't she so cute and skinny? We are heading into the wonderful time of potty training and I think I'm going to try doing the naked thing where you don't let them wear anything for 3 days and watch them like a hawk. A lady at work swore by it and said she didn't have any accidents after that and went strait to underwear. If you have any input I would love it cause I'm new at all this stuff.

ROCK BAND PARTY

So here we are as sweet rockers... Jake is the drummer from Blink 182 Travis Barker with some of the exact same tatoos he actually has. I am just a crazy rocker chick. We were invited to a rock band B-day party and heard it was a costume contest so you know how we are... go big or go or something like that... all I know is that those tatoos took way to long but Jake loved it. His cousin Brad spent almost a full day at a family reunion drawing them from pics we printed off the internet. Sharpie markers and RSVP pens if anyone is curious and they come off ok with alcohol and a lot of scrubbing. Above are some detailed shots of the tats. I drew the fish one and the one on his hands... he didn't trust me with much more. Also the lip ring is actually a toe ring so don't worry, no one was hurt in the process. Needless to say we won the contest and had a great time!

Tough face

Last weekend we were up in Island park and it was a bit cooler than usual for August. We were out in the hotub and the boys were having contests who could sit out in the cold air the longest. They were all crossing thier arms and making tough faces and Lyndi decided to join in. We were able to snap this pic before she broke and I just love her immitation!

Ditto

So I copied this idea from Michelle's blog because I was curious what mine would show. It takes all the dialouge from your blog or whatever you choose and randomizes them- the larger the word the more you used it. Suprised on some but altogether just interesting!

Summer Fun!

So we were really lucky and got to go to Lake powell again with Jake's mom side of the family. Again we had a blast and ate so good we probably gained 5 lbs (I'm really hating the swimming suit thing this summer). It really is like a cruise, amazing food prepared by Becky all the time. I finally got the jump on the wakeboard this trip. Also we had a dance party with some sweet tunes one night and let Lyndi do a little crowd surfing. Our brand new surf board was stolen for the 2nd time but we still used an older smaller one. Also Jake and I went on the most breathtaking hike (beautiful and quite the work out). So you probably can't tell in the picture of him and I but we were really high above the chanel and you could see forever. Lastly, the funny pic is of Lyndi Isaac (Jake's youngest brother)and I at Cherry Hill showing off our pirate hooks on deck of the ship.

Braces off!

This is actually kind of late but Jake got his braces off and I thought it was something to note! His smile is gorgeous!

The 2nd picture is of all of us in the "Debond crew" (Dr Brown and two of the other assistants Noel and Rachel with their significant others because we made it so all of them were getting their braces off on the same day) The perks of working for an Orthodontist!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE

I have a confession to make... I'm officially obsessed with this show. I love it. I look forward to it every week and can watch it over and over and never get tired of it. Some of the dances I may not like but the ones I do I just can't get enough of. I act like I know the contestants as well as my family and Jake makes fun of me. Speaking of family, I have successfully hooked most of them on it- even my parents. This pic isn't from this season but it was one of my and Jake's favorites from the seasons. If any of you haven't ever seen it you at least have to check it out. Its on Fox on Wednesday night at 7(the dancing) and Thursday night (the results). Well glad I got that off my chest ; )

Dad update is that we are halfway through the chemo treatments. YEAH! Dad got a bit sick this time with nausea and an eye infection but we still feel blessed that he mom are still able to do most of their daily tasks. So 3 down and 3 more to go! Aren't they cute though?

Lake Powell

I loved how Lyndi's hair turned out and it stayed in for a lot longer than her pigtales. Jake and I went on a fun hike and found some really beautiful rock formations. It is deffinitely a different vcation though when you have a toddler. We really tried to keep her in her life jacket all the time except for when we slept and I'm proud to say we kept her sunscreened well enough that she didn't get a bad sunburn the whole week we were there, just a bit pink on the legs one day.

Prom

So I know we are kind of funny and maybe a little juvenile but we decided we missed high school dances and so we decided to have our own little prom. Mostly it ended up being siblings and cousins with their dates but it was a blast! We got all dressed up and went to dinner then had the dance at the in-laws. We really danced and probably even more then you would at a normal prom. Jake was sore for a couple days after and we were afraid he might have given himself whiplash (sp?). So the first pic is of Jake and I at the Mandarin, and the other one is all of my siblings that came showing a little Prince Power!

Seeing old friends

The first two pictures are with my friend Chelsie. I lived with her in St. George while going to Dixie. She has a cute family now with her husband Taylor and little boy Spencer.

Then I got to see another friend from St. George when I went to her brother's (another friend) reception up at the Red Butte Gardens. Her name is Jeanette and she married a boy named Seth and they live in Colorado so I was so glad to see her. She and her family are some of the best people I know. Chelsie and Jeannette's family both took me in when I lived down there and are like extended family to me. The last lovely picture is of Michelle, Lisa and I at Cherry Hill. We had a blast. I love those girls.
